SPEEDWATCH - WOULDHAM AND ECCLES

Good Afternoon,

Earlier today, PC 30457 Warner and I carried out speed checks alongside members of the Community Speed Watch team on Knowle Road, Wouldham, following concerns raised about drivers exceeding the 20mph limit — particularly in an area where the safety of young children and the wider public is a priority.

During the operation, three drivers were issued speeding tickets after being caught exceeding the limit. Each was also spoken to about the dangers of speeding on such a narrow and residential road.

We later conducted a similar operation on Bull Lane, Eccles, where two more drivers were ticketed for exceeding a 30mph speed limit. Again, those individuals were given advice about the risks their actions pose to others.

Speeding is one of the ‘Fatal Five’ contributing factors in serious and fatal road collisions across the UK. We hope that those dealt with today take this as a learning opportunity — and that it serves as a reminder to all drivers to respect speed limits and drive responsibly.
